Michelin is expanding its mining tire lineup with the launch of the XDR Wide Body Truck, its first tire developed specifically for wide-body trucks used in mining and quarry operations. The tire is designed to carry up to 12 metric tons, or about 26,786 pounds, per tire at a recommended inflation pressure of 9 bar, equivalent to about 130 psi. Michelin said the recommended pressure is significantly lower than typically used in the segment, helping reduce the risk of tire blowouts.
